Fitting post.
It’s pretty fitting that the post that has remained the most recent here for so long was about bacon. After all, there are few things out there that don’t become even more succulent with the application of bacon.
This snow on the ground is alarming. Not the bad kind of alarming, just a general dreamy type. However our road is clear which means the roads can’t be bad since this one is one of the absolute last in the county to get plowed. Feel the love.
Niagara plays Michigan tonight in the first round of the NCAA Men’s hockey tournament. I really hope the boys can keep it a close game and not get slaughtered. Sure, there’s some cosmically small chance they will pull off the upset, and damn do I hope it happens, but more realistcally I just want them to keep it competitive.
I suppose I should head to work.

Ithaca Beer After Dark
Awhile ago the brewery attempted to get a license so that we could sell beer by the pint. The theory was that we would have a couple nights a week where we would do a happy hour. The town dropped the hammer on that idea though. Still, they ended up purchasing a couple of pub tables and some pub chairs. All of them finally arrived the other day and I put them all together, so in the retail front they sit. They look good there – they make the room look a lot less empty, but still, part of me thinks they seem silly for being there. Though it occurred to me that while they might not be overly useful in terms of the customer, they would make a great Ithaca Beer after hours.
Hey, it’s the random things that I think when it gets slow.

Slipping time.
Turn your back for a moment and the days whip on by. Still, as far as posting goes it’s been a better month than most. Time to really focus that brain in for the writingpaloza that will be November.
The wedding yesterday was nice. It was very casual, very laid back, and I my lazy ass got to do some walking which is always a good thing. I still question having someone sing during the ceremony. I’m more the just get it done with so we can eat and drink type.
Not sure how to feel after dominating three periods of play in our first game of the season, yet still losing 1 – 5. Their goalie was seriously good and all their goals came from two players on breakaways. On the plus side we play this way against other goalies in this league and we’ll win a lot more games than we lose.
It’s a four day week for me. Then a five day weekend. That certainly doesn’t hurt. Still, Monday is off to one hell of a slow start. It’s gorgeous weather outside, but from all forecasts that’s about to change tonight. Good. We have a game at Cass on Thursday and I heard the weekend games there were hell with it being 70 out.
The trip to California should be interesting on many levels – I think I’ll go more in to that later.
It’s time for more coffee.

Some random thoughts.
- Okay, I’ve obviously failed to post every day, but I am posting with far more regularity and to me that is a win.
- For some reason I keep reading “neocons” as “necrons”. Too much Warhammer 40k I suppose.
- I thought we were under a storm warning until 10:30pm, it turns out it’s actually 2:30pm and that actually disappointed me. I do love my catastrophic weather conditions.
- I don’t care what anyone says, potato chips make a wonderful substitute for lunch.
- Being a fan of a Buffalo team is hard work. Ask any Bills or Sabres fan.
