I’ve used the Gallery2 software before so I knew it would do everything I wanted.  It only took a little bit of work to get it running on the Media Temple servers, there were not hitches at all.  I had one little snag with MySQL, but that was simply my brain malfunctioning and not actually following the instructions for connecting to MySQL that they sent me when I set the hosting up.  Whoops!  After I actually read the whole e-mail it only required one little change and everything was up and running.  With this free download I’m able to upload pictures directly from iPhoto to the gallery.

My gallery of photos is easy to find: http://gallery.thetravesty.com.  I like to keep things as easy as possible.  Right now I only have pictures of the kittys up, but I’ll be adding more photos shortly.

Not only did I add new pictures, but I also updated from the really old beta code that it was running. The new pictures are pictures of my cats that I took with my new camera. After getting back from Vegas I purchased a Casio Exilim Z75 digital camera. It’s a nice slim point and shoot type of camera. I’m not in to photography the way that some of my friends are, so I didn’t need anything too fancy. I’ve been really impressed with the quality of the pictures that I’ve been able to take on it. Of course my phone can take pictures that are almost as good as my old camera, so I suppose it’s not saying much that the ones I’ve taken with the new one are so much better.

All I have on it at the moment are some of the pictures from my 31st Birthday party. I should be putting the pictures from North Carolina, and my big road trip from last summer back up in the next few days. I’m making that slow progress towards things I really want to do with this webserver.
