Now what?

Ithaca is home to the wackiest weather.  Last week we had rain, ice, snow, sun, fog, and all sorts of other fun.  One day in fact we had thunder while it was snowing which was quite surreal.  Tomorrow the temperature is supposed to jump up in to the mid-60′s which of course will mean lots of wind, and yes, thunderstorms.  Of course then it will drop another 20 degrees the next day.  Wacky weather.

I’m back to trying to post regularly in the attempt that my brain will actually generate some mildly interesting content.  Certainly this isn’t it, but I am trying.  I figure if I keep posting, even if its just snippets of nothing much in particular it might help to get things going.  Or I could just keep chatting about the weather.

October!

So here we go, off on the right foot and everything – it’s the first post of a brand new month.  One down, thirty to go, right?  I’m not sure how much faith I have in my ability to do a daily posting.  The goal is really to get myself in to the habit of not just updating this site, but writing in general.  It’s a habit I’ve fallen dreadfully out of and I need to whip myself back in to shape in regards to it.  In fact I don’t know if anyone is even reading this.  Fortunately, that is not the point.

In an effort to make this a bit more substantial of a post I thought I’d take the time to say how insane the idea of a wedding is.  I’m not saying getting married is insane (though that can certainly be debated), the actually wedding process is what is maddening.  Yes, there’s some merit to just eloping – but since, to be honest, I never really thought I would end up married, I felt the day needed to be marked with one hell of an epic celebration.  Sure, we’re not going to go overboard, but we’d like to put on a great party that everyone there can enjoy.  It’s 270 days to go and I’m understanding why some people take even longer to plan these things.  I’m sure this is going to be a common, more frantic theme amongst my posts the closer it gets to June 28th.

Because it’s a Sunday.

It’s a Sunday and that seems like a good reason for a post.  It’s also the last day of the month and I’m attempting to rev my brain up so that I can attempt to post an entry to this site every day in the month of October.  This might fail towards the end of the month when I head out to California with Denise, but I figure I’ll give it a shot.

I’m happy with the new theme.  I upgraded WordPress to 2.3 and decided it would be good to find a theme that had been updated to take advantage of the changes made to this new version.  Of course I stumbled on to this gem – and because of my Mac geek heritage I figured that it was the theme for me.  I’ve got a couple of minor changes I plan to make on it over the next few weeks, but overall I’m quite happy with it.
